Cortland Capital backs top-billing recruiters who are ready to run their own firm. Its audience already earns well. So the site had to make leaving feel like the safer move.

Six pages on Webflow. Barba.js turns them into one continuous site, Lenis keeps the scroll smooth, and GSAP runs the motion.

  1. The Cortland home page, Built to back you, on a MacBook against a mountain peak
  2. Brief

A venture that asks senior headhunters to go out on their own.

Cortland gives established recruiters what they need to start their own firm: capital, infrastructure, a sales playbook and founders with a stake in the outcome. The people it is talking to already bill well, so the site could not read like a sales pitch.

We kept the design quiet on purpose. Cream and navy, mountain and mist imagery, a compass mark, and type set in Instrument Sans. The copy makes the argument and the design stays out of its way.

The Path to Freedom, The Model, Who We Back and About each answer one question a recruiter asks before leaving a salaried seat, and Get in Touch ends every one of them.

  3. The Path to Freedom page on a MacBook resting on a bouclé chair
The home page and Get in Touch on two phones, on navy
  4. Site elements: the three pillar cards, a founder card and The Model's features
Who We Back, Built for a certain kind of recruiter, on a MacBook on a wooden floor
  5. The home and About pages on two iPhones
The Path to Freedom on an iPhone held in one hand
  6. The About page on a MacBook and Who We Back on an iPhone, on navy
  7. Outcome

Six pages that move like one site.

Barba.js swaps pages without a reload, behind a curtain transition, and Lenis keeps the scroll smooth from the first screen to the footer.

Every animation is a module that mounts with its page and tears itself down before the next one arrives. Nothing doubles up or drifts after a few clicks around the site.

  8. A walk through the live site on a MacBook: page load, two page transitions and a scroll to the footer
